Product editing too slow due to large attributes

I am having a site of 17k
with only one attribute set and hundreds of attributes
with hundreds of attribute value in attributes

due to which my product editing page in admin is opening very very slowly.
otherwise admin is working fine - only the product edit page is slow

Is there a way to increase speed of loading this page.
i have already set php.ini settings to higher side
done all compressions, flat catalog
i am using dedicated server

Can anybody provide a solution to this problem?

Hi.

Unfortunately despite the flexibility EAV offers, it is also inherently slow.

Do you need all of those attributes for each product? I.e. Could you split the attributes up in to sets. That would help.
