301 redirect index.php domain to normal URL

I would like to redirect my website's /index.php to just my regular URL.

I have tried Catalog -> URL Rewrite Management

Added a new custom

I put the full http://www.nameofmysite.com/index.php in ID Path and Request Path

I put the normal http://www.nameofmysite.com in the Target Path and chose Permanent 301

I get an error saying that there can't be two // after each other. How do I fix it?
