Buy X amount of items for $x amount - Shopping Cart

Hi!

We want to run a promotion as follows:

Buy 3 items for one specific category and pay $100 for all 3. However, individually each item are various prices ($25, $35, $32, etc.). 

Is there a simple way to do this?

Hi Heather,

I don't know of a native way to accomplish that for most situations, but I do know of an extension from @Amasty that I believe would accomplish that:

Version for Magento 1: https://marketplace.magento.com/amasty-extension-special-promotions-pro.html

Note: If all of the products in the category are the same price, you may be able to address this with Magento's native catalog price rules. I haven't tested for this exact scenario, but I believe that the logic may be feasible with the off-the-shelf Magento feature set.
