We have products that have options that only our Customer service reps can add in the backend order system. The only problem is we have to create a special product to do this with. Is there a way to make an option available only when order is placed in the admin panel that customers cant see on our website? Example: lets say we offer a t-shirt in red, blue and green. But if the customer service rep orders it in the admin, you can get it in pink, purple and yellow. Can we create a product that has the options: Red, Blue, Green, Pink, Purple and Yellow but the only options the customer will see is the red, blue and green. We have the Community Edition.
It depends what do you means with "options". For configurable product it's possible to not add included simple product to the given website which pretty much means that the only way to add it to the cart is to use backend.
The Company that I work for prints on various materials. We have regular materials that the customer can order on our website but we also have specialty materials such as roughstick for use on concrete walls where the order has to be placed by the customer service reps in the back end. Right now we have one product that can not be viewed from the front end that the cs reps use. This is not good for reporting and such. If each product entered could have a material option that can not be viewed on the website it would be fabulous!
