Best Extensions for a Business Setup Magento 1

Best Extensions for a Business Setup Magento 1

What would be the best setup for the following scenario?

1. Store owner needs to be able to fulfill orders by physically SCAN the products prior to shipping (i.e full inventory management)

2. Store owner needs to be able to take over-the-phone orders.

order should be  in pending position.

client should be charged (PARTIAL or full payment) after order is fulfilled.

Store owner should be able to make changes to the invoice (discount price wise)

3. Amazon/ Ebay connection

Any other suggestions for extensions that we may need, with regards to invoice, order, POS, inventory (do we need  a pos system for the scanning?) will be welcomed
Thanks

Owen

You’ll need a powerful combination of extensions to streamline operations effectively.

To handle inventory and physical product scanning before shipping, extensions like Boost My Shop’s Embedded ERP or Warehouse Management System (WMS) are excellent choices. These tools offer full inventory control with barcode scanning support, shelf location management, and even a mobile app for warehouse teams. Alternatively, Wyomind's Barcode Inventory extension provides basic scanning functionality, while GroovePacker helps verify orders during the pick-and-pack process by scanning barcodes to ensure accuracy.

For over-the-phone orders, a reliable POS system is essential. Boost My Shop’s Point of Sale (POS) or ePOS Manager enables you to create and manage orders manually, scan items, apply discounts, and hold orders in a "pending" status until payment is completed. These systems also support multi-payment options, allowing you to collect full or partial payments and complete the charge only after fulfillment. To facilitate this, the MageComp Partial Payment extension is a strong add-on, letting customers pay partially at checkout and complete payment later. For managing online payments and refunds, integrating Stripe for Magento ensures smooth handling of full or partial charges and adjustments directly from the admin panel.

If you're selling on Amazon or eBay, integration tools like M2E Pro or ChannelUnity are highly recommended. These extensions sync inventory, product listings, and orders between Magento and major marketplaces, ensuring real-time updates and avoiding overselling. Some ERP systems like Boost My Shop’s, waho app also offer built-in multichannel capabilities, making the process even more efficient.

Additional extensions worth considering include barcode label generators for printing SKU and product tags, UPS shipping automation for printing shipping labels and packing slips, and Z-report tools to track sales by user or location. A POS-compatible thermal printer and cash drawer will round out your setup and bring a retail-level experience to your operation.
