Google Analytics 4 for Magento 2

Re: Google Analytics 4 for Magento 2

@oviliz  Even if you ask magento tech support today, they would refer you a 3rd party module cause they don't have it in magento.

Luckily this is just merged into 2.4-develop https://github.com/magento/magento2/pull/35376, so we should have it by Q3/4 of this year

Re: Google Analytics 4 for Magento 2

Hello @prashantsi69f6

Google Analytics is one of the most crucial tools for any online store, without which it isn't easy to get and analyze user data. And earlier this basic function was not compatible with Magento which can become a major lack point for the platform in the future. Keeping this in mind, Magento is all set to provide this feature in its new version 2.4.5. So now you don't need to buy it from other vendors, just need to upgrade your Magento store to the latest version.

The Magento 2.4.5. the version will be available to the general public from 9th August 2022.

Re: Google Analytics 4 for Magento 2

You can implement Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with your Magento 2 website in 2 ways:
1. Without GTM: This implementation is very much similar to how you setup Universional Analytics (UA).

2. With GTM: For this method, you have to setup a Google tag manager account and then through GTM account you can setup GA4. If you need step-by-step guide for this method, check out this article: Implement Google Analytics 4 (GA4) on Magento 2.
This will help you better understand the procedure.

Re: Google Analytics 4 for Magento 2

HI there,

Well you can do either connect directly using your GA4 ID or using GTM.

However, setting up the events for eCommerce tracking can be complicated and daunting as you have to manually custom events that contain lines of code and may vary depending on the scale and objectives of each business. So it is highly recommended that you use an extension.

In this case, I suggest the GA4 module by BSS Commerce that helps you to integrate GA4 into your Magento store without having to create a GTM account. It connects directly using GA4 ID, and better yet, it offers 5 eCommerce event trackings. Save pretty much of your time!

Hope this is useful to you!
