Tells customer "Only $X until you get Free Shipping:

Looking for something to install for the checkout page that says something like "You're only $11.20 from receiving free shipping on your entire order."  And maybe have that message in the header as well right about the shopping art icon. 

 

Anyone use such a module?

you can have a look at our Promo Banners extension. It will let you show checkout banners according to the conditions you set yourself, including your example You're only $11.20 from receiving free shipping on your entire order."

 

Here is an example of another banner in shopping cart:
