automatic email send when order is placed

Sending order emails to customers is a default Magento feature. You can enable it in the admin area System -> Configuration -> Sales -> Sales Emails -> Order.

I guess we have some what you need.

We have an extension that sends email notifications to admin(s) upon the following events:

* New order placed

* New invoice received

* New shipping created

* New credit memo issued

* New review has been submitted

* New customer registered

You can disable any of them, specify template for each event.
