Magento Connect Manager Blank Page

I'm trying to log in to Magento Connect Manager but the page shows a blank page with a little input just like below.

As refered in some topics of the forum I tried to install zlib php extension but I would like to know how to do it

If you're on linux, just execute:

sudo apt-get install -y php5-ftp php5-zlib
