Magento Connect Manager Invalid user name or password

I am trying out Megento CE 1.9.1.1 which was installed on a shared server via Softaculous (Cpanel).

 

All apears to work until trying to access Magento Connect Manager when a 'invalid user name or password' message is presented despite the correct details having been entered.

 

Any suggestions would be of great help as there appears little available with a google search.

Verify that the credentials are proper while entering? Also try creating a new user and login with that.
