New site, importing product database

Hi there,

 

We had a 1.7 magento site and after upgrading to 1.9 the template didn't work correct and there where many errors.

Some where fixed but not all. So we decided to make another demo site with new template and all 1.9. (magento and template).

 

But is it now possible to import the old product and media database into this new site?

Hi @Oddlaw

 

You need to export products and other data from the old site and then import to the new one. If you have backup of old site then configure that  and export data. After that import into new one.

Before importing to new site, you also need to configure your attribute sets and create attributes (that you have had at your old site) and also build your category tree.
