Can't find a working Magento translation extension that fits my needs — any recommendations?

Can't find a working Magento translation extension that fits my needs — any recommendations?

At McDonaldsMenuUK, we focus on providing detailed, UK-specific McDonald’s menu content to a diverse audience. To better serve non-English-speaking visitors, we’re looking for a reliable Magento translation extension that works well with the latest version of Magento. Ideally, it should support store-view-specific translations, offer accurate language rendering, and integrate smoothly without slowing down performance. We’ve tested a few, but haven’t found one that meets all our needs. If anyone has a recommendation for a proven solution that works well for multilingual content on a content-heavy Magento site, we’d love to hear it!

Hi there,

You may find this information very helpful, as the following article explains how to add new translations to different store views easily, both manually and automatically: https://magefan.com/magento-2-translation-extension/configuration

I also had the same issue, and my friend Geometry Dash Lite suggested the following tips:

  • Use Weglot for automatic translation with customization.
  • Integrate the Google Translate API with a custom script.
  • Build a custom extension with the help of a Magento developer.

For McDonald's Menu UK, finding a reliable Magento translation extension that supports store-view-specific translations, accurate rendering, and smooth performance on a content-heavy site is crucial for reaching a diverse audience with detailed McDonald's menu content.

Several extensions are highly regarded and could be suitable:

  • LangShop by Aheadworks: This extension stands out for its comprehensive features, including AI-powered translation (integrating with Google Cloud and DeepL Pro), professional human translation services, and robust glossary rules for consistency. It also allows for mass translation and supports various store elements, including products, categories, attributes, and third-party extensions. Its server-side rendering and caching further contribute to performance.

  • Magefan's Magento 2 Translation Extension: This extension offers direct translation from the admin panel for buttons, labels, CMS content, email templates, and product/category attributes. It has an auto-search feature for translatable texts and a translation database for easy management. It also supports automatic translation via Google Translation API for efficiency.

  • AppJetty's Magento 2 Language Translator: This extension focuses on providing full control over translations, allowing you to edit machine-translated content via a WYSIWYG editor. It supports mass translation and covers various store fields, including meta details, CMS content, and reviews. Notably, it avoids IP-based automatic switching, giving more control to the admin and end-users.

When choosing, consider their compatibility with your current Magento version, pricing models (some offer free tiers with limited features), and the level of translation quality control they provide (AI, human, or a mix). Given your content-heavy nature, ensure the chosen solution optimizes for performance and handles large volumes of text efficiently.
