I just got an announcement to upgrade Magento to 2.0.3
Is there a way to go from 2.0.2 to 2.0.3 through the Admin UI Panel without destroying all the work I have done so far in my setup?
It seems to me from my interpretation of the instructions (they are not crystal clear to me) that I am stuck with v2.0.2
When I installed Magento 2.0.2, I downloaded the Magento Community Edition 2.0.2.zip with no sample data from the public site at https://www.magentocommerce.com/download?_ga=1.26553461.956369988.1457552624
I uploaded the .zip file to the server and extracted it. I proceeded to setup my store and theme it.
Now the instructions for "upgrade" call for an uninstall of my 2.0.2 and a new install of 2.0.3
Am I understanding that correctly?
If so, I cannot undo and lose all that I done to date -- hence I am stuck with v 2.0.2.
What am I missing here?
Use the backend's Component Manager:
You can use this tool to update to any versions of Magento you want http://goo.gl/QyT9Gn . It doesn't affect anything on your site. no down time, your site will work normally. It also keeps all your customers passwords and Seo URLs, so it will not destroy all works you have built for years. Good luck!
