Magento 2.0 CE installation; cannot go to admin page

I installed Magento 2.0 CE on xampp.  When I type http://localhost:8080/magento2/admin, it says "This webpage has a redirect loop".  I cannot figure out how to fix this.

I had previously been able to install magento2 ce with samples; however, later I deleted it to install magento2 without samples, but now I cannot finalize the installation.   Can anyone help?  Thanks.

Hi @Brian1111

Please try to change the base url to http://127.0.0.1:8080/magento2/.

The browser may not be setting the cookie.

Thank you for your reply.  I could connect to admin login page, but when I type my username and password in Chrome, it does not login; it just returns empty boxes.  I could login using FireFox browser instead of Chrome.  However, I receive the following message: "One or more indexers are invalid. Make sure your Magento cron job is running."
