Magento 2.1.6 Post Theme Installation error 500

I setup an instance on Google Cloud and installed Magento with Bitnami and installed a theme. After following the instructions exactly and running " php bin/magento setup:upgrade "

I got a "HTTP ERROR 500". From what I have read this is a permissions issue and I have read people saying all you need to do is fix the permissions I have changed them some in order to install the theme and made notes and changed them back to what they permissions were originally set too. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is the IP where I have it sitting so you can see the error: 104.197.251.108

Hi @sanchez324,

If you got an error 500 yo ushould check your Magento's logs and also your webserver error logs too.

I'm pretty sure you'll find the reason of the problem into those logs.

I have checked my logs folder but there was nothing in there.

Neither on webserver or maybe php-fpm error log?
