Magento 2 CE 2.1.7 installation fatal error

I installed magento 2.1.7 CE and I receive the following fatal error on both the home and administrative pages.  I am running php 5.6.30.

Hello mkeenan,

Your PHP Versions (5.6.30) is not within the requirements. You will need 5.6.5 or higher. You can see the requirements.
