Magento 2 configurable product saves as simple product !!

 I used magento 1.9 and previous for years.

For a few weeks with magento 2.4.0, let me complain about the mess it seems :

Impossible to use the imported configuarble and simple products, I have to create new configurable that save as "simple" product.

New simple products are created with the new configurable thru the attributes.

The 2nd issue is then that those new products supposed to be simples ones, save as Virtual products.

What a mess with all that ?

Is that normal ?

I was used to much better with magento 1.9 !

The product is Configurable only if it has children, otherwise, it is "converted" into a Simple product.

And It will create virtually first...

Without Weight indicated for the product, it automatically becomes Virtual.

This is specific of Magento 2. Simply put the weight value and will be simple.

When you will add weight to these virtual products then Magento will change the product type to simple.

Thanks for your reply.

However that sounds completely illogical.

And as my host have had an  issue on the disk, I've lost all my files : I had no backup !

Good bye Magento. Going to Woocommerce !
