I'm facing error in installing composer in Magento 2. I'm trying to install Magento 2 via SSH.
I faced this error
The "https://repo.magento.com/archives/magento/composer/magento-composer-220.127.116.11.zip" file could not be downloaded (HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found)"
Solved! Go to Solution.
I've put up a step-by-step blog post on how to resolve this issue here: http://magento2king.com/magento2-insta-be-downloaded/. Hope this helps!
I'm getting the same error on a local Windows box. So I created that auth.json, but I still get the same 404 error on a new "composer install" run. My auth.json is located in %APPDATA%\Roaming\Composer\ . I created two different Github tokens, as the first one did not work, but the second one with all scopes doesn't work either. In the credentials for repo.magento.com I tested my registered username and then the email address - both with no luck. I'm stuck.
I am suspecting my password to break authentication on repo.magento.com, as it contains a slash and an @ sign. So I just changed it to something without special characters. Now I get a
Invalid credentials for 'https://repo.magento.com/archives/magento/composer/magento-composer-18.104.22.168.zip', aborting
I assume magento.com needs some time to synchronize their user credentials, so I'll give it a new try tomorrow.
Finally I installed Magento2 from the zip file, downloaded from https://www.magentocommerce.com/download - works like a charm.
