The PDO extension is required for this adapter but the extension is not loaded

I have been reading on this for a while trying to figure this out in adding extensions I am getting the above
I added

extension=sqlite.so
extension=pdo.so
extension=pdo_mysql.so
extension=php_pdo_mysql.dll

in main doc root magento php.ini

still unable to install extensions

main system php.ini shows pdo enabled

Any help on this please

May be your PHP interpreter uses another *.ini file than you have edited.
