data-migration-tool 2.0.2 compat with M2.0.4?

Do you know if the data-migration-tool v2.0.2 will work with Magento 2.0.4? There is only a 2.0.2 version of it currently... Docs say these must match.

I do not know, but I believe its the first 2 digits that matter, not the patch number. It is more about the database schema - that has not been changing in patches.
