Cant create additional Language Magento 1 Store

Dear reader,
I recently tried to configure our webshop: http://satellietgroothandel.nl/ to display an additional language option. I followed several guides and they all basically told me to create a new store front. After this, I have configure this store front to display the English language in locale. If things go correctly, a drop down menu should appear on the front page that gives our users the option to select a language. However this does not happen.
Any one of you guys has an idea on why this might be?

Hi,

As I see you using a custom theme.
Try check files if language switcher called under.

app\design\frontend\themepackage\themename\template\page\html\header.phtml

<?php echo $this->getChildHtml('currency') ?>
<?php echo $this->getChildHtml('store_language') ?>

I have looked over it and we do indeed have a custom layout.
I have not been able to find a solution inside this theme to create an additional language, but thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
