in 2018 i fixed this by going into chrome: //flags and disable "#enable-ephemeral-flash-permission". and that worked and i could see my browse and upload buttons again. but now it seems the browsers got rid of it altogether? that option is not even there anymore. I've tried chrome, firefox, and edge. none will show the buttons when in the product|images section.
Im using magento 1.8.1
has anyone found a way to do this again?
Everything in google is showing old results that no longer work.
