I am seeing a blank area in the back end where I expect to edit a static block

I am using version - Magento ver. 1.8.0.0

 

When I click on a static block to edit it - there is a blank space where I expect to see the information to edit.

 

This is also the case when I try to edit a blog post.

 

Has anyone any ideas?

 

Help much appreciated.

Hi,

Can you look in your var/log/exception.log and see if there is any errors output in there?

 

They may not be turned on; so you can check this first by going to System > Configuration > Developer > Logs

Hi

 

I am looking at the filesystem.php - which has been changed to suspected - can I apply the security patches - but without updating from 1.8.0 to the latest version of magento?
