One of my categories shows as a tree

I just started using Magento today. I noticed that one of my categories (Earrings) lists as a tree when I click on it but the others do not. I have looked on line for the setting to turn this off but so far no luck. I am using the default theme. My web site is www.alchemy2000.com.

Sounds like you have accidentally dragged sub categories in to the main Earings category.
 
Ensure there are no other sub categories of the main Earings category - and if there is then drag them out in Catalog->Manage Categories.
 
If I've got the wrong end of the stick please post a pic.
