Removing .HTML suffix on Category & Product Pages

Hi all,

If I remove .HTML from categories and product pages in the backend settings - will it lead to 404s everywhere?

Or will it auto-redirect to the non .html version?

Did you do re indexing after removing the .html from admin configuration?

I haven't done it yet. I'm worried it will lead to a mass of 404s.
