"Out of Stock" when product exists and "In Stock" is selected.

(Using Magento 1.7.0.2)

I am encountering an issue where my product is displaying in the online Catalog as "Out Of Stock", when I have noted the stock correctly in the Product Manager.  Here are the details of what I have so far:

I have a configurable product, and an associated simple product (I will be adding more simple products - tshirts with size and color attributes)

For the configurable product, on the Inventory tab, I selected:

      Manage Stock:  "YES"

      Enable Qty Increments:  "NO"

      Stock Availability:  "IN STOCK"

For the associated simple product, on the Inventory tab, I selected:

      QTY: "5"

      Stock Availability:  "IN STOCK"

I'm not aware of anything else that would be affected the inventory amount....?
