Configurable product not showing in shopping cart its empty 1.7.0.2

Hello,

when I make a Configurable product with  drop down and choose a size and click add to cart, nothing is happening. The shopping cart is empty.

I have the same problem with Custom Options.

Its showing in the frontend and you can choose something but when I put it in the shopping cart there is nothing in it. The page is only refreshing.

Magento Version 1.7.0.2

Can someone help me please?

Hi, it sounds like there's an error occuring when adding to basket. Perhaps this isn't showing because of a customisation either with the theme or through third party extensions.

Are you familiar with the network tab of the developer toolbar in Chrome/Firefox? This should allow you to view what happens when you hit add to basket and see if you are getting a positive response or not. 

Changing the default theme temporarily is another way of ruling whether it's a theme issue or not.
