Discount method automatic...

Hi,

     I want to use discount method in magento...if customer purchase more than particular amount which i already set amount discount automatically apply in checkout page...is there any free extensions to use or any other method to set discount coupon method....

NOTE:  amount should be apply automatic and display in checkout step...

This is a built in Magento feature called Shopping Cart Price Rule (under backend main menu item Promotions).

Yes u are right...i tried that also and but it doesn't work (i.e) not automatically update we have to give coupon code..what to do.

It works well enough, you're just doing something wrong.

You probably did something wrong with conditions. Next time explain what you did so we can actually help you.
