Hide Category if Not Logged In Customer

Hi,
i was looking to hide some categories on frontend if customer is not logged in...
Which could be the right way to do this?
I thought to do something like this, but i don't if is the best way...

Add a dropdown to category and then control the status of this dropdown, but i don't know how to do it...

There is a great extension I've been using for a while now that can accomplish this.

It'll allow you to select from all of your customer groups, and if none, it will still have the option to hide from 'NOT LOGGED IN'

This also works for Products as well, if you ever feel so inclined.

It does exactly what you need plus can hide price block, add to cart and other options for particular customer groups.
