Advanced search seems to be working fine but when you try to use the quick search on our home page it just redirects back to the homepage without any results. Anyone have a clue what can be causing this? We've tried clearing caches, and reindexing.Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!
Are you using a custom search?
Maybe a custom theme?
Can you share a public URL to test?
Thanks for the reply. No custom search but yes we are using a custom theme. The site has been up for quite a few years with minimal extensions. Usually problem free...

I was checking using the word "california" a and has worked properly.
Maybe the confusion is because the search icon hasn't to be clicked you just need to move over to see the input field.
Thanks for taking a look. In the same scenario as you described if you click on the returned results for "california" or any other search term that comes back in the quick search drop down it results in the same behavior as I described initially. It doesn't take you to the search result but directly redirects to the homepage.
I can't reproduce the issue.
Can you share a screenshot of the place I have to click after the california results are returned?
So for instance if you search for "baby" the above results appear if you select one of the search results you are redirected back to the homepage with no search results.
Maybe you have some redirect or synonym or something like that configured?
I've checked with "baby pajama":
And I've got a redirect (you can see the 302 code).
But then I've checked with "pajama" only:
And has worked (in the same way with "california").
