Magento charging customer's for specific items within a category

We are having an issue which we are stumped by, since adding a $99 category to our site and implementing stock levels into these items (thus unticking the "use default" settings within the product attributes). Authorize.net is now charging orders automatically for those particular items.

Any clues as to why this might be? authorize.net is not set up to authorize and capture.
