Newsletter subscription works fine, but shows an error message.

When I subscribe to the Newsletter, I get shown an error message in the frontend:

"There was a problem with the subscription"

However, the Email was added successfully to the Newsletter Subscribers in the backend, and the test Newsletter I made was sent successfully to the email.

 

Any idea why this could happen?

I'm using Magento ver. 1.9.1.1 (Bitnami-Magento running on Amazon EC2).

Can you provide the exception.log file after getting that error message?
