Product filter with pricing rules

Hi,
I have purchased http://www.fmeextensions.com/magento-percentage-pricing.html what is using the exact same rules as the Catalog Price Rules. I have two problems:

1. If I set these rules then the special price will never apply.
2. The product price filter is not going to use the price rules rather then the original price-> The price ranges are not going to be right.

Any idea how could I fix this issue?
I was looking the code for 

mage_catalog_model_layer_filter_price

 and for the product view as well, but I cannot see how the prices are overwritten since it is not coming form the database.

It is always my recommendation when purchasing a 3rd party module that you direct questions toward that module to the developer's support system.   You'll typically get better, more reliable help as they should know more about the module's construction than anyone.
