Session times out even with activity

Hello,

I have (Magento ver. 1.9.1.0) with cache disabled, https enabled on the frontend and I have the following session configurations (see screenshot).

I noticed that my session lasts for exactly 3600 seconds (1 hour), and then timesout even if the user is active. Any suggestions? Also sometimes, the session timesout randomly.

Note: I am note sure if this is an issue, but my session folder has 777 permission and all the session files have 600 permission and are owned by group/user (48:48).

One suggestion is to set it using the .htaccess file for your requirements.

I didn't understand what you mean by set it? What should I set using .htaccess?

With the .htaccess you need to increase the session time out limit.
