Using Magento for Product Brochure Website

Hi all................Great to see the forum up and running!

I understand the Magento is a superb ecommerce platform and we use it for such websites.

My question is, is it possible and are there templates out there that can basically, 'turn off' the ecommerce capability?'

We'd like to use our multiple site installation to add a 'manufacturers' website that only displays products and product details, but not give the option to purchase anything.

It's going to be a Manufacturers Product Bruchure site.

Hi @Andy_Acute

You can turn of all checkout options on a store level from the admin via:

System > Configuration > Checkout 

I'm not sure that it will allow you to disable the buttons add to cart buttons on product pages and cart in the header. But removing this is a question of removing them from the template :-)

you can mark all your products out of stock and translate 'out of stock' to something like 'not sold online'
