Where is the code? (Use Secure URLs in Frontend)

Hello,

I am running Magento ver. 1.9.1.0. In the Configuration->Web menu, I can set "Use Secure URLs in Frontend" to Yes.
I would like to see the code/conditional statement that affect all the URLs when this option is selected. Can someone point me to the code/location?

search secure_url in all config.xml
