SUPEE-6788_CE_1.9.2.1 Patch Successful but Footer Still Showing 1.9.2.1 instead of 1.9.2.2

SUPEE-6788_CE_1.9.2.1 Patch Successful but Admin Footer Still Showing Magento ver. 1.9.2.1 instead of 1.9.2.2

 

I have tried the following but still not showing 1.9.2.2.

1. Cleared all cache under system, Cache Management.

2. Deleted all the var/cache directory

3. Deleted all var/session

4. Rebooted the server

 

Any help is greatly appreciated.

It's a patch, not a version upgrade. It only selects out the files that have the vulnerabilities and makes the changes to them.

 

There are quite a few more changes in a full version upgrade than just the security patches.

 

So patches only patch the current version, they do not do a full version upgrade, therefore the version number does not increment.
