Tutorial for updating patches on cpanel?

Hey,

Hey is there a tutorial for installing patches using Cpanel, or just overwriting files in file manager to install patches?

I don't really understand 95% of the installation instructions that are in the sticky.  No idea what SH is, or any of those commands, or what putty is or winSCP or anything.

Is there a way to just upload patches to the Magento Connect and have magento install their own patches?

That looks like a great resource posted right above me.

However if you are looking to still have them installed via the cpanel (I use same interface), you can do what I usually do.. which is download the patch, place it within the main root directory of your store, and then create a cronjob for the patch file inside the Cron Jobs tab on home page of the cpanel. Then just manually run it, and delete it afterwards.
