Another new issue - internet explorer can't log in

I was trying to determine browser compatibility and when I try to log in with IE11, I get the admin page, enter the username and password; it just keeps returning me to the same page.  Never logs me in.

Maybe its just me at this point, but it seems a little buggy....

as a follow up, I noticed when I tried to create a dummy account that it keeps saying turn on cookies, well cookies are turned on.

Now I can't log in to the admin from any browser.

seriously? Is this product this touchy? 

I had a lot of high hopes for magento to get us away from Volusion, but I don't want to spend every waking moment just trying to keep it running.

Are you running your magento on localhost?

No, I'm running it on a FQDN with SSL.  Yes I have a valid certificate installed.

Does it show any error when it redirect you to the logic page?

It may related to the seesion storage, Have you tried to clean cookies & session and then try to login?

No it does not show any error, yes I have cleared the cache over and over again.

I even went back, deleted the entire install and reinstalled it, made sure that the permissions were set correctly, I can log in again from chrome, but IE is still a no go.

I am able to log in from my macbook pro with Firefox as well.

IE is still not working.

Ok this is really frustrating.  I am still not able to log in with IE, I cannot create a user account with IE.  I can't move foward unless this gets resolved....

One thing I did notice, when I log in to https://www.domainname.com/admin

It creates one session file in /var/session

When I go to login after entering the admin username and password, it creates TWO additiional sessions.

I have no idea what is causing that, but it seems to be directly related to IE.

I can't believe nobody else is having this problem.

From past experience check:

1 - PHP memory (set higher memory)

2 - Cache Lifetime (set a higher lifetime)

I'm not sure how the php memory limit would affect IE but not the other browsers, but I'll increase it anyway.

As for the cache lifetime, I'm assuming your talking about the one defined in the Magento Settings | Web area correct?
