Getting 404 error on choosing new theme as default

Hi !

 

I installed a new theme in CE 1.9.0. In the Admin, I changed the settings to keep the new theme as default (all the changes as per the documentation that came with the theme). But when I open the frontend, I get an error "Error 404: Page not found".

 

I would appreciate anyone who could help me resolve this issue..
