Magento Chinese Translation

SOLVED

Magento Chinese Translation

Hi,

We have a Magento website in english, but about 70% of our customers are in China.

We have the Google translation extension installed, but it is not good enough for what we need.

I have read somewhere that you can get translation packs for Magento, how does this work?

I do not understand the concept of having a second store in a different language, can someone please explain?

Is this a difficult thing to set up?

Thank you in advance

Dave

Hi @Reliablem,

Maybe you can start here to understand store views configurations: http://docs.magento.com/m2/ce/user_guide/stores/websites-stores-views.html

The language pack for chinese needs more work, but here you'll find the language packs: https://crowdin.com/project/magento-2

Re: Magento Chinese Translation

Have you got your issue solved for your Chinese translation extension?

BTW if you would still need personalized EN>CN language service provider, my team could be of help...

Re: Magento Chinese Translation

fairly new to Magento in general and also wondering about how to install and use different the language packs (current interest also the chinese pack for M2.2.4.)

Does the link you provided point to the 'offical' language pack? As far as I understand the matter thus far there sould be 1 .csv file in the end which you may be able to install. Where wold you get that from? When downloading the translation from where you pointed us to I get a complex structure of directories (representing the indivdual oarts of Magento 2 I assum) and about 160 csv files named zh_CN.csv.

I understand that this may be logical for a translation project but am wondering where to find THE ONE zh_CN.csv actually can use to install.

I find a github repo which looks more promissing in regards to 1 file, ready to install. But as your response is marked as solution here I'm wondering whether that crowdin.com location you've referred is closer to the source and likewise preferrable
