SELINUX should not be disabled.
I read in the docs, etc that Selinux should be disabled. ItS not hard to get selinux working with magento and makes server way more secure.
Without selinux your site will be hacked just a matter of time. I am not saying with selinux you can't get hacked but way harder. Let's say I put a file on your server to execute without selinux that file would run malware as an example and you wouldn't know it before it was too late. With selinux it would block it and telling you do you want this program to run, etc

Re: SELINUX should not be disabled.
Where are you seeing the recommendation that SELINUX shouldn't be used? The documentation for Magento1 talks about how to install with SELINUX and says that they don't recommend to have it or not. http://devdocs.magento.com/guides/m1x/install/installing_install.html#install-prereq-selinux

Re: SELINUX should not be disabled.
Ok my bad. I read here on the forums that a lot of people have SELinux disabled and just wanted to have new users the risk of doing that.
