Unable to upload images using WYSIWYG (MAC OSX Yosemite 10.10.5)

Unable to upload images using WYSIWYG (MAC OSX Yosemite 10.10.5)

I'm a new Magento user.

A developer has installed Queldorei Shopper theme v1.5.4

The icon for uploading images using the wysiwyg editor does not appear.

I'm able to upload images in the Product Information>Images section b/c it uses a different functionality.

I've tried on Safari, Firefox, and Chrome.  Can't get the icon on any of them.

Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Is this a Magento issue or a Shopper theme issue?

Hard to imagine that Mac users can't use the wysiwig upload image function...

Do you have Flash Player running on any of the browsers that you tried? My understanding is that you need to have Flash in order to use the default buttons for uploading images. (They are actually a set of .swf files, believe it or not.) If you're not seeing the buttons at all, it's because the .swf files aren't being displayed. If you don't want to install Flash, there's an alternative setup that uses non-Flash buttons - I'm not sure if it's an extension or just a code change you have to make, but if you poke around the forums you will find mention of it.

Hi,

Thanks for your response.

I do have flash player and I've downloaded it a couple of times to make sure.

I've tried safari, firefox, chrome, and I've even logged into my admin panel from a remote windows server.

So I believe you're right - it must have something to do with my computer.

Do you have any other ideas?

I will check forums as well.

Thanks again.

Does it work with another computer? The part you state about "I've even logged into my admin panel from a remote windows server." is a little confusing.

If it works with another computer, it's a problem with your current computer.

If it doesn't work with another computer, it is an application and/or server related problem and not related to your computer.
