Hello,

On our webshop  I would like to add some sort of static block on the left of the page where I would like to state the USP's of the webshop. Is this possible for a beginner or do I have to contact the webmaster for that?

yes you can do that by using static block feature of Magento .

Procedure as follow :-

create static block at admin end then assign it at left column at home page .  you can do that either by using xml or from cms pages if that section manages from cms page with name "verzendverpakkingshop.nl" .
