All product images and prices are in place the invoicing and payment is in place, but all of a sudden we arrive two days ago and the Home page has disappeared Catalogue Category is displaying HTTP 500 error and CMS in not displaying anything. We panic and get in touch with theme providers who advise for us to get patches we get 5344,5994,6237,6285,6482,6788,7616,7405,7405v1.1 but the problem is still there Does anyone have any ideas what could have caused this ? Any contribution will be greatly appreciated!! HELP!!!

Judging by the logs you are using compilation. The first thing we advise you to do is to disable it - that can be done under System > Tools > Compilation = Disable. Next, update cache and check what you'll get.
If you don't see any changes, you should debug the issue. Here are the detailed instructions on how to implement that the most effective way: http://www.magento.stackexchange.com/questions/428/fundamentals-for-debugging-a-magento-store .
Even if after all the implemented measures the issue persists, please provide us with more detail, and we'll do our best to help.
For 500, look at apache logs files.
Thanks mdrobiul have reviewed apache log files and all seems to point to:https://backup.bristolitcompany.com/index.php/s/aXzTwNPjjgCygak which in turn is related to: https://backup.bristolitcompany.com/index.php/s/9sMPPJe2xXVflh8

Thanks MageworxTeam the debugging step by step solution was pivotal. turns out Magento needed upgrading in order for theme setting to remain functional.
