Theme design changes not working

Magento ver. 1.9.2.0

I have ultimo theme and I made a sub-theme but something went wrong after applying it.
Way to apply it : 1)made a directory in theme folder  -  skin/frontend/ultimo/new

, 2) in Admin Panel - System -> Configuration -> Design  in a default field change "default" with "new";

Then when I tried to change colors in Theme Design section, they didn't apply.

PS: When I change "new" with "default" in default filed in System -> Configuration -> Design   and try again to pick other colors in Theme Design section, there are no changes.

Hi,

Are you creating the new folder only for color changes? If yes then you need to set the new under - 

Admin Panel -> System -> Configuration -> Design  Skin (Images / CSS)

Keep the  Admin Panel -> System -> Configuration -> Design -> default field as  "default" only

Ty for you reply, i found where i had made a mistake. Don't know how to delete this post so if anybody can do it .
