How can I upgrade from 1.9.0.1 to 1.9.3.1

I want to upgrade my site from 1.9.0.1 to 1.9.3.1

I have installed 1.9.3.1 on a different test folder. Can I move the database alone and it will upgrade?

The article is not what I was asking for.

It tell you hoe to upgrade to 1.9.0.0 from a previous version, I said I have 19.0.1 and I want to upgrade it to 1.9.0.3.
