While I wouldn't be so pessimistic as to wait for Magento 2.7, I'd wait for a couple minor releases to get 2.0 out of alpha stage. Talking to a few honest developers shows that the internals aren't quite nailed down yet and they've had to play refactor the refactor of the rewrite to 2.0 just enough that they're playing re-debug so their modules will have all the bugs introduced by the changes in 2.0 itself eliminated.
Early adopter syndrome is great for freshly opened shops, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger...

While Magento 1.x was an ecommerce website framework for developers that could also be used by shopowners, Magento 2.0 is becoming more exclusive as an ecommerce website framework for developers and shopowners probably had better be teaming up with developers or if they're large enough, start hiring internal developers.
You've got a business to run and the extra attention needed in upgrading your skillset probably means that you either hire somebody to run your business so you can develop full time or hire a developer so you can pay attention to running your business.
