Products with configuration

Hi,

Right now I am entering the procduct into magento sytem, but encountered a problem and don't know if it is possible to work do it.

among other things I sell cables, exemple CAT6 300m installation cable, which I sell it as an item, or I also give the option to sell by the meter. Now is there a way to do this, since they need to be the same items, since when I sell let say 50m cable, the qty of the whole item (300m) become with a decimal point, since  will not have the whole item.

Is there a way to do this?

You can create custom options in same products like:

10m, 50m, 100m, 150m, 200m, 300m

So the user will choose that option with qty so price also vary accordingly.

You can follow the below steps:

Catalog> Products> Edit product > Customizable Options > here you can add options

but like that, I need to apply qty to every choice that I have, which I don't have since the qty depends on the master 300m box.

@robertbits, In the frontend user, will find an option to choose qty for specific options with custom options. If you want apply from admin for specific options then you have to create Configurable products with simple products.
