Yes,
In the Magento Admin, proceed to Catalog --> Attributes --> Manage Attributes.
Then select the "Weight" Attribute in order to edit it.
Then, you'll see several settings, including "Used in Product Listing", "Visible on Product View Page on Front-end", "Use In Layered Navigation", "Comparable on Front-end", etc.
Depending on where you want to hide the weight from on the frontend of your site, you can make the appropriate adjustments from these settings.
